Ashlea Barnett

After teaching dance, yoga and theater for over 20 years, Ashlea Barnett created Slinky Kids, a kids yoga and movement company with a new approach to mindfulness. She has a love for movement and watching children grow in strength, awareness, and confidence through their work together. She has seen the positive impact of her program not only in the children she teaches but also the adults who surround them. She is certified in kids yoga through Growga, has an extensive background and degree in dance and theatre, and she is certified in All Abilities kids yoga through ChildLight Education Company. With her extensive knowledge and experience with children she aims to bring ease and mobility to the body, giving them added strength, flexibility, and confidence they never knew they had. Her goal is to teach kindness, positivity, and acceptance one breath at a time.

Diana Newton

Diana has been teaching fitness classes ever since Jane Fonda was first wearing leggings in the eighties! But when she began practicing yoga twenty-five years ago, she discovered that it was far more than a workout and in fact has been a powerful transformational force in her life. Diana has explored many branches of the yoga tree and is certified at the 200-hour level. Her classes invite intention to both the fundamentals and nuances of alignment, as well as encourage curiosity about your practice and compassion towards your whole self. Diana’s yoga guidance is often enlivened by humor, metaphor, and the knowledge that yoga can be a lifelong gift of learning and exploration.

Fauna Finley

Teaching and performing are Fauna’s great loves because both are expressive ways to embody and transmit joy. Her classes are warm and welcoming; they embrace dance as a community experience where students have fun learning moves together.

In her evolution as a belly dancer, Fauna studied on the west coast with renowned dancers like Jill Parker, Nana Candelaria, Jamila and Suhalia Salimpour, and Mira Betz. Prior to discovering belly dance, Fauna was a jazz, hip-hop, and folk dancer.

Fauna opened the first dedicated belly dance studio in Greensboro, North Carolina, and taught master classes at several nearby universities, including A&T University, Elon University, and UNC Greensboro. She received her B.A. in Anthropology of Expressive Culture, an ethnographic study of dance and music from around the world. Fauna is also a Certified Yoga Teacher.
